ALCA Award
of Distinction
Blue Agave Design was honored with the Award of Distinction at the 33rd Annual Arizona Excellence in Landscaping Awards sponsored by the Arizona Landscape Contractors Association (ALCA). Designers were recognized for their quality of work and ability to use natural resources to enhance the original environment of the spaces they re-designed. As a result of this win, Blue Agave Design was also featured in the Tucson Lifestyle Home & Garden April 2010 issue.
We worked with Dean at Blue Agave Design in connection with our patio and yard “redo.” Dean had great ideas, and was respectful of ours and easy to work with. We were more than pleased with the end result and I can recommend Dean without reservation.

Featured in Tucson Lifestyle 2009 issue
In this six page spread of the Tucson Home and Garden April 2009 issue, Blue Agave is featured for our transformative makeover of the Frankel home in Pima Canyon. Our intention was to utilize every space available to meet the lifestyle of the Frankel family, utilizing fountains, fireplaces, pools, terraces, native plants and pottery. The project serves as a perfect example of a close collaboration with our clients to implement a Blue Agave Landscape design plan.
Tucson Home Magazine Xeriscape Contest winner
Featured in Tucson Home Magazine, our landscape design of the Amado Residence captures the casual and relaxed atmosphere of the historic barrio, while using traditional low water plants, industrial materials for patios, and three large above-ground cisterns for rainwater harvesting. The project received the Professional Residential Award and the Judges Award for Best Use of Water Harvesting in the 2004 Xeriscape Contest presented by Tohono Chul Park and the Arizona Department of Water Resources.
